Gladys Banks

Mom passed away today shortly before noon
with my sister Judy and I by her side...
we were fortunate to have a wonderful team from
Crossroads Hospice
with us once we started the morphine yesterday

I know she is with her family in Heaven now
right where she belongs
I will grieve
of course
my heart is filled with the JOY of her life
the end to her earthly pain and suffering

I have been such a lucky daughter

  4. I have subscribed to your blog via Feedly for the last couple of years and am fairly confident I have read all of your posts during that time. I have been consistently struck by your devotion to and love for your mother. You didn't just pay lip service to being a good daughter; you were in the trenches day in and day out, being there for your mom and demonstrating your love. You gave us a sweet, yet unflinching, look at a real mother-daughter relationship. Thank you for that. I wish you solace.

  11. So sorry, Kelley. May the memories you have of your mother be a comfort to you. Hospice organizations do great work. I used to volunteer at a local Hospice (non-medical volunteer) before I had to quit to focus of my mother.....who has dementia. Hugs to you. You are a good daughter!

  30. Dear Kelley:

I am so sorry. Your mother had the best care and love anyone could ever hope for. I loved reading your posts about your Mom and prayed her passing would be safe and peaceful. You see I lost my mom April 4th after a long illness and we were able to keep her at home, because my sister quit her job and stayed with her 24-7. God bless you and I hope you find peace and serenity now that your mom no longer has to suffer. Take care care of yourself.

  31. My heart is heavy as I think about your dear mother's death. I lost my mother four years ago in April and I still grieve for her. May you find comfort in that, just as I was, you were there when your mother needed you most. We were both blessed to have a very special mother, weren't we? Please know that you and your sister will be in my prayers during the coming days.

Love from Diane in North Carolina.
