Minute by Minute

with Mom it's minute by minute
yesterday was a bad day
dementia wise
no one told us therapy
was half a day on Saturday

being alone
with nothing to do
doesn't sit well with Mom

this was after her
monster side
showed up in therapy
she has no filter when mad/anxious

so when one of the other patients
talked nonstop for an hour...
she let him have it
after the fact
she was sorry she yelled at him
for never shutting up

glad I missed it

she says how hard it is to be there
how she regrets not helping her mother more
when she was in a nursing home

the things we think of
with too much time on our hands

wishing her a better day today

*****

Dad was moved from ICU
to a regular room last night
still confused from the anesthesia
that was his only complaint
when the Dr asked how he was feeling...

I'll be starting my rounds soon...
perfect weather for driving around
feels like fall already

  4. It is hard being in therapy and with her dementia harder with the patience level. They are very lucky to have a wonderful daughter like you and have gone above and beyond, just wish I could help out.

  5. I feel for you. My Mum has severe alzheimers and is in a resthome where my sister works, a long long way away from me. You have made me realise I can do something. Send some flowers to my sister and say thankyou. I have had a look at your blog and I love your hook work, thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. What a wonderful thing to read what the frugal goddess had to say she has learned from reading your blog.

Orange Sink said to another post that prayers are working, and I too will continue mine. We all have regrets, no matter how much we do. So if you have some in the future, remember how valiently you did your best. No second guessing allowed!

    Hugs, hugs, hugs!
