well, the new quilt is in the works at least
Mom is arranging the blocks in different ways
so we can choose what goes where
still need 8 more blocks
before the final setting
these are the blocks from
Cheri's Friendship Quilt on Facebook
I've had such fun using scraps
along with the pieces from disassembled blocks and quilts
along with plenty of pink and blue
am going for a brighter look than my usual
but still sneak in a dark now and then
Cheri has set her blocks with alternating squares
mine will have none
so I can fit it on Mom's wall easier...
all my blocks are cut out
ready to stitch
Thank you Cheri for all the fun!

I love all those primitive colors you have chosen, Kelley! I'm sure your mom will get great pleasure at looking at the quilt on her wall!!
Hi Kelley,
The colors you have chosen are so pretty together!!! Looks like your mom is enjoying arranging them and will get to enjoy the fruit of both of your labors!!!
Warm Hugs~

I like the pops of colors with the pinks, still looks prim.
Love the expressions on your mom and her friends face, lol.

Another 'primitive at its best' by you and your Mom. Love it! xo
Since your mother was previously active with quilts and such, these challenges and games you provide for her are extremely good for her. Obviously you know that.
You are a fantastic daughter who has given so much for her. She may not be able to demonstrate that love now, but you WILL be rewarded I'm sure.
Wow! Love this sampler... the fabrics are so cozy! So tempting to join facebook just to see the clubs and the projects that are going on...
I'm sorry Kelley. Angels be with you and God Bless you both
So sorry you and your mom are having to go through this. This behavior is common in dementia patients - it must be so difficult for them to adjust to changes and not be able to verbally express their feelings. My mom suffered Alzheimer's for several years and there was a period during the middle when she was terrified - she was still able to call me then (I live 2 states away) and say "Where am I?" "Who is coming to get me?" "Am I at work?" She thought her parents and sister were still alive and we just went along with it rather than distress her over and over again with the truth since she was unable to retain it. It was reassuring to her to know that they "were at home" and "just fine". My sister and I both hated this, but decided that the truth was they were at home and just fine in heaven waiting for her to join them. One doctor told my sister that "home" is a concept for them that no longer exists - usually their childhood home from earliest memories. This is a difficult journey and you have my prayers.
