Sheep Bird Star Rug

Finsihed hooking this one yesterday and I love it...another of Maria's patterns...she leaves a wonderful border of linen around the pattern and I couldn't let that go to waste do I drew a new border 2" out and added a few more half circle (clam shells) to use up more of my scrap basket wool...

Only the background and the sheep were done from newly cut strips...I may be changing the beak and wing for more contrast...

Something arrived in the mail to really tempt my dedication to the wool diet...a new mailer from Rebecca (the wool studio)...those swatches are perfection and of course, I want a bolt of each! Also in the mail were the patterns by cheri...Mom is so excited to have the Nativity pattern and I am going to start the Wool Christmas Sampler first...bought a few other patterns too...check out simplefolk.com for a great selection...

found another quilt I'd love to make...very simple and perfect for scraps...see Baskets for Usha at this link: http://www.robertahorton.com/Pages/LecturesQuilts.html

Kelley, The color of this rug is divine! The background is so neat. You have a special knack for putting colors together. Keep posting all your wonderful work...it is so inspiring. I'm so glad you used the extra linen. I too hook right up to the edge of the linen. The extra clams look great. Maria
