Hooker's Helper

while Olivia surveys the garage
for any sign of  a mouse, chipmunk or grasshopper
Melrose takes advantage
the chance to sit on a rug in progress
he never sits on them while they are on the frame
(unlike Olivia)

I'm still deciding to what to hook
in the middle of this little mat...
maybe he's suggesting a black cat

this is the last scrap of linen
from a large rug design I'd tried to hook
many times and always rejected
feels good to have it gone!

small pumpkin mat
not so bright in person...
using up some scraps makes for a great background

next up will be a little quilt started last year
adding some applique and the binding
looks like this month is all about
finishing what I start...
tough work for a chronic procrastinator

my cats always know which applique i'm working so that's the one they choose to cuddle up on.....

They do love to lay on them, just something about our projects, maybe our smell that makes them want to cuddle on them. I think a black cat would be beautiful on that piece with the blue shades.

Love the background on that little pumpkin mat! I agree with Melrose... the first mat needs a black cat! ;-)

yep a nice black cat would be great! I think you should send your kids here, I have crickets here in the house almost daily. Of course I don't kill them becuase it's bad luck, but Jordan loved loved loved crickets. She used to eat them. I have one in my basement singing as I type. He is soooooooo loud. When I find them I try to catch them and take them outside but gosh do they jump! Then I jump and lose the darn little thing. They are supposed to be good luck so hey, they can come in here all they want! Have a great weekend Kelley girl!!

I love your little pumpkin mat. Your background turned out gorgeous with using up scraps and I love the movement of colors in the pumpkin too. I agree with everyone else, you need a black cat on the first little rug. Can you rub elbows with me, cause I need to get in a finishing mood. I have 2 small doll size quilts that I put together recently that need to be quilted. That's not the only ones to be quilted either, just the more recent ones.

Love your pumpkin.. both the background colors and the color of the pumpkin.

I too am on a "let's get those UFO's done" binge. Trying (operative word being trying) not to start anything new until I get some things finished.

Wish I could find some finishing mojo...even some starting mojo would work at this point. ;o Ahhhh, yes, I sweet black kitty in the mat would be perfect....nobody does kitties like you do. Love the pumpkin mat too...Well, then again, I'm not sure I've met many pumpkins I have loved. Have a great new week! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (PS - that little girl with the kitty in your header is absolutely precious.)
