Simple Mat

this is the little mat
Melrose posed with a while ago
black cat didn't work...
geometric did
not so bright in real life

behind it is a small quilt
I've finally gotten around to putting the binding on
next is some wool applique...

after that I can hook again
decided I need to finish at least one thing
before starting another

Olivia is on a roll this week
we went to the basement to do laundry
in less than a minute she caught a mouse
ran to me with it
praising her I opened the door
so she could at least take it to the garage

I've never seen evidence of a mouse
down there before
both cats are down there with me
a few times a week...

sheesh...it's critter week here

Kelley,
There's always something about those simple little mats I love! Yours has great colors and design! The peak of the quilt behind looks wonderful too!
You sure have been visited by those little critters this week..... Olivia must be in her glory!

I think the cooler temps are driving them inside. I have not seen one in our basement, or evidence, so I hope it stays that way, lol. Always love your prim rugs, you have a knack for the right designs and the right shades.

You hook the best mats!
Oh, how I hate mice!!! I "feed" them in the garage in hopes that they don't sneak in. A few years ago I had a real problem and was half tempted to get a cat. Maybe I can just borrow one of yours if they return ... cat, not mouse :)

All I wanna know is, does Melrose approve of the mat? ;o) How sweet is that...I like the juxtaposition of the square on the left and the plain lines on the right....

And dear, sweet, Olivia would be in her glory here I suspect....we live surrounded by farmer's fields and this time of year when they harvest, the mice beeline it indoors. I opened the pantry closet a few nights ago and found one hanging from the shelf. DISGUSTING!! But, alas, kitties can't get in the pantry cupboard and those little mouse things seem to know that....
