Army Blanket Green

images from Pinterest

moving my wool around I've
found more vintage army blankets
than expected
the wool is too heavy to hook with
so what to do?

wool applique
recently finished a wool quilt
that's been making me want to stitch one too
mine will have to be done
on whole cloth
seams would be too thick

should I use a Cheri pattern
that's been in my stash
or make it up as I go?
the big decision

~~~~~
my folks are getting along okay
Dad is getting stronger daily
mostly there mentally
working on more walking and standing
trouble with a heel wound
not wanting to heal...
Mom is feeling much better
concerning her bronchitis
we had a nice visit with Dad for lunch
and went for a ride
to pick her up a cream puff...
thanks as always for your
thoughts, prayers, emails...
they lift me
I am trying to remember what designer did a tree skirt with an army blanket and applique angels on it.
Kelley...glad your parents are doing better...everything takes time & you are such a blessing to them.
The army blanket...hmm...just love them! My favorite is the penny rug that is oval shaped with three layers of tongues surrounding the middle. I always want to make one, but always use the wool for something else...good luck! Whatever you do.....it will be fabulous!
That looks like what i had, think Joanne was the one who gave it it to me and have used a lot of it. Great for everything and penny backgrounds too, but I think I whole cloth quilt would be fun and something you could work on, a bit at a time.
I hope you have a good day today and get some time for yourself.
Glad your parents continue to improve. I can't help but believe that as the weather continues to improve that will speed up! :)
Lovely old army blankets! Your later posts with larger pennies would certainly be tempting... A nice pillow to fit in the small of your back as you hook might be a great project to use them too.
Love the idea of using one for a tree skirt. Angels in camo came into my mind, but that would be so sad... I'm sure prim angels would gladden the heart tho. Hugs!
