Gameboards or Pinterest Therapy

As much as I love my hooked rug
I could easily trade them all
for vintage gameboards

only on the condition of being able
to hook more

this board is especially nice
looking so much like a sunflower

this is perfect for pennies or hooking

reminds me of the
PA Dutch hex signs

want
want want this one!
this is a modern one by

(I think)
she does wonderful boards

on the parent front...
Mom has been asking for a bird feeder
for over a week

we're looking for a large one
to go on a post in the front yard
definitely need a baffle for the squirrels

she often sits and looks out the front window
at the trees
or maybe nothing
just missing Dad

we also have a new couch on our list
there's is old and low
too low for comfort
it's where I'll sit to stitch or hook

today Mom did some stitching!!!
the beginning of the log cabin blocks
for pattern by
The Woolen Willow...

Dad had a rough week
tests and Dr appointments
he did receive cardiac clearance for surgery
with the warning that he is high risk

we already knew that...
he will need surgery one way or another
we'd rather try and save his foot
than wait and lose it for sure

Today was only the 4th day I've missed
visiting him...
my sister is back from vacation
she took Mom to visit him this morning

just in time
I fell asleep three times on the way
home from work last night
twice at red lights
once on a lonesome stretch of road

then I fell asleep once
the car
was in the garage and turned off
slept for almost two hours...

Seriously exhausted
maybe this week will be smoother

Love the game boards!
I hope you got some much needed rest. Now that your sister is home hopefully you can get a few more breaks.
Hugs :)

ohdear, Kelley Girl...no more falling asleep in the car! Hopefully, you will be able to get some much needed time for yourself with your sister back. Does she live close by? xo

Do not fall asleep, cannot imagine being that tired.
Love those game boards, the simple ones I can replicate so if you have an antique one, I can copy that without copy right problems. I do have one that I still have to make, will be a surprise someday;)

I love my bird feeders and I have squirrels and chipmunks that feed from the ground.

While driving keep the music up loud (rock and roll not sweet sleepy time music) and turn the A/C to cold so you won't fall asleep at the wheel!!

Thanks for the Pinterest photos.

Oh my Kelley. I know you are running on empty. You hang in there and get as much rest as you can. It is so hard taking care of everyone. I will certainly keep all of you in my prayers. Love the inspiration of the game boards!

Kelley,
Keep up the wonderful work you are doing. We got the okay for mom to have her cataracts done. She is an accomplished seamstress, knitter and crossword junkie who has not been able to even thread a needle.
First eye is set for Monday. Oh, how I hope she can see again!

Falling asleep in the garage, car turned off, is okay, and might even be a good napping place. Falling asleep at stop lights, oh dear!

Prayers will continue, sorry I wandered away from blog land for so long... Jonut
