Good Times

I don't know what
we were laughing at
but it was good times late yesterday afternoon
probably her hair
after a shower
beauty salon not until tomorrow

I gave her this stuffed cat
Mom is not enthused about it...
so I hold it
when watching tv with her
we haven't decided on a name yet
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Her roommates daughter
brought them each
one of those plastic flowers
that bounce around in the sunlight

Mom tells me to give hers to Margaret

Margaret tells me
to give hers to my Mom

I don't think they are being nice
I think they don't like them
and for some reason it cracks me up

Have a wonderful day!

Lol That is cute. I gave Mom a stuffed dog and she never bothered with it either. I used to try and get her interested in holding it. And then another lady in the nursing home used to sneak in and steal it. When I moved stuff out of Mom's room I gave it to that lady. She was definitely more attached to it than Mom was.

Bless her heart....it's good to see her smile and those bruises fading. That's cute about the flowers. Hugs, Lori

The flower situation is funny. I was looking at something online yesterday called grumpy cats, they are so cute and they have books and things that come with them. It is so good to see her smiling, she really looks so much happier and content. Grab the moments while you can;)

A sense of humor is so important! The cat is cute and definitely worth a try. My mom with Alzheimer's is very attached to her stuffed dog (Muffin) and EVERYBODY in her facility knows all about it! Take Care!

I'm glad that you can still smile. That is important. My parents both suffer from dementia and are no longer able to communicate. My heart aches for you when I read how you are struggling. I know this struggle well. It is a journey. Hugs.

Love it Kelley :). Humor is so very important. I remember once when my Dad was in the hospital. My older brother (big jokester)bought him a pair of adult Lion head slippers. (my dad had asked us to bring him his slippers from home because they wanted him to walk). WELL, can you imagine my Dad's face LOL? But he was a trooper and wore them while walking up and down the hall. The nurses loved it :).

I read your post with a little bit of nostalgia because a few years before my mom passed away, I gave her a 25th anniversary cabbage patch doll. I picked it out because it had the same coloring that my sister and I had growing up--dark brown, hair, blue eyes and freckles. My mom loved it and named it. I made it some pj's and slippers. We always laughed about her having "her own cpk doll" but I did notice that sometimes there were lipstick smudges on the face ;) I still have it. It's the one thing I can't part with because it reminds me of my mom.
