Job Complete?

these photos are of the back and side of the garage
instead of doing the work
they took the wood from a dismantled picnic table
and leaned it up all along the base of the walls

that was my tipping point
deliberately trying to hide their lack of work
it was more like an arrow to me
since the wood is destined for the garbage

I'm not sure if it's laziness
or thinking I'm not clever enough to see the ruse
either way
I'm not paying much for this shoddy work
I have dozens of before and after photos
if they want to take me to small claims court

guess who is coming back tomorrow
to do a walk through with me

these were a few of the areas I pointed out
the last day they were here

obviously my voice was just noise
wop wap wap
(like Charlie Brown's teacher)

at this point
it looks like I'll be completing the work myself
except the high parts...

sigh
what a learning experience

oh my gosh, Kelley Girl. I cannot think of words polite enough to put here to describe what I think of those guys. Losers works, I guess. WOW. Yeah, I surely would not be paying them much, if anything. Shoddy work, for sure. xo

I am so sorry for you. I have run into the same problem when I got my house painted. Never want to go thru that again.

Do not pay... let them take you to court.

I am so sorry. It is so hard to find good, reliable help even if you are willing to pay for it. ARGH!
Good luck to you.

That is so unfair and between hassles and more work for you, not worth hiring them again;)

I'm so sorry you have this hassle. It's enough with all the other things you have going on. I hope your threat to withhold payment will inspire them to step up and do the right thing.

I'm not surprised. It's typical. My sister used her doctor's painter thinking he HAS to be good. It's a mess and promise after promise of return to correct doesn't happen. My teacher neighbor tells his students to not "outdo" or "outperform" so as not to make less able feel inferior. Maybe your painter doesn't want to hurt other bad painters' feelings.

Oh my gosh Kelley, that is horrid. I wouldn't pay a cent to them. Where in the world do they find these people???? Sorry you now have to fix their mess......in your spare time..xoxox

Yes, I agree don't give them final payment. They are probably counting on you being a pushover and will just let it go. Take them to small claims court. You may be able to get back what you have already paid. One can hope when judge sees your pictures.
