Sooner or Later

this church is the inspiration
for one of my new designs...

it is slow going right now with all the work
I'm doing at the house

many years of neglect
to overcome by repairing and replacing

a lot of work
but great satisfaction returning this house
to a better condition
I talk to Dad daily while I work

Mom and I say we know he's happy
seeing me care for his handiwork...

yesterday we were watching
This Old House
they were working on bricks and mortar
Mom said she was the mixer
when they built this house
so much of this, that and the other
into the wheelbarrow
then she stirred with a shovel

plenty of good memories to share

That looks like the church I got photos of, in NH. I have plans someday to make designs with the churches I have seen, someday;)

Good to see you have some nice time with your mom and able to share memories, that is always a good thing to talk about and ask her about her childhood and life, maybe write it down in a notebook and something she can read herself.

Beautiful church, Kelley....I can't wait for your new designs to come out. I could have used a few new ones! Your mom is so sweet...God Bless her and you!

That church is a great inspiration.
With all you are doing with your mom and the house, I don't know how you have time for anything else. You should share a picture of the house with us.
Hugs :)

Now that's what makes a house a home! I could not imagine how much work it was for your folks to build from the ground up, brick by brick and nail by nail. Love that church... it's going to make a great design... hooked or quilted?

I love that church and can't wait to see what you come up with! In the meantime, it must be gratifying to restore the house that your family built knowing how proud they are of your efforts!
