In Her Own Bed

Mom is happily sleeping in her own bed tonight
after impersonating the
Tasmanian Devil last night

seriously, there was no sleeping
after her scan
every minute was spent
taking her gown, oxygen and electrodes off
trying to climb out of bed
for about 7 hours

making fists and wanting to punch me
and/or the nurse and aide

today she has been so apologetic and embarrassed
her wonderful nurse Debbie said no apology necessary
when you work in the medical field
you know what you're getting in to

when you are a patient, you don't

I have a huge respect for the work nurses do
this fine lady is the BEST!

it makes mom so happy to make friends
all the people she comes in contact with
she charms then with her stories
that mix past, present and fiction
her laughter and attitude

she is feeling much better
but not 100% yet

new issues to be solved
or adapted to
we don't want her to go through a lot of testing
none that involves anesthesia for sure

Thanks for your kind words and prayers
we appreciate each one
more than you know!

I'm glad she is back in her own bed. I hope everything can be figured out for her health wise.

Glad that your mom has gained some comfort! My daughter's a nurse and I am very proud of how she tries to put her patients first! I have walked your path three times and have to walk it for the last time again. Not for the faint of heart. You are stronger than you know.

Oh, I am so glad that she's feeling better and back to her own place. And I'm sure that it is better for you, too. It is hard to watch our parents decline. Remember that her heart has not changed...
