Recharging

every year
I think this will be the year I hook Sparhawk
my sister gifted me with the pattern
the color planning just stops me cold...

I normally hook with no plan
or a very loose plan at best
this one might need me to phone a friend...

now this is more my speed
lots of scrappy

this year I want to work on backgrounds
and reproducing the antique look
like Saundra does

the border!!!

now just picture it with two cats
like I do...
gorgeous background

*****

I'm not sure when I'll get back to hooking
spending more hours with mom
on my days off

working on the fidget mats as time allows
I can feel this project
recharging my creativity

I do like those rugs and I am in the mood to hook, been too long and i can do it a bit at a time.
Just trying to decide on a simple pattern but still nice, I do like how my starfish mat looks, maybe blue scraps with some light browns and other colors, then dark starfish.

Thanks for such a wonderful compliment, you're being too kind. Must admit that it is very liberating to use up those random wooly strips from your baggies. Am looking forward to seeing what you produce.

Yes, Saundra is a master at antique backgrounds!
Your color planning is always spot on. I'm sure you'll nail it.

Sparhawk is gorgeous and no doubt you will do a great job on it. I have to say that I am in love with that second rug!!! Thx for the inspiration.

I also have his Sparhawk pattern. We have a love/hate relationship. I too am not sure how to color plan this one. I want it to be primitive. I don't particularly like the colors on this one. To me it's too blah....not my colors at all. So someday I will hook it. You do beautiful work, I know whatever you come up with, it will be a stunner.

Good morning, Kelley. Each rug has its own charm, but I love the colors in the last one. The background is so soft.

Hope that you and your mom have a wonderful weekend.

I love the first two. Maybe even the second one more. You're fired up girl! Good. Hope Mom is doing well.

Oooo, I'm loving that second rug....and the third one... I have been away from hooking too, too, long and need to get back...but I will force myself to finish up a Christmas stocking I started 2 years ago, and a rather large (for me) welcome kitties rug that I started more years ago than I can remember. I'm at my limit of 2 unfinished hooking projects...if I start another, I'll be hopelessly confused lol. I am not a color planner WHATSOEVER...so don't phone this friend. ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
