Swap Rug

Village Pear Tree
pattern from Woolen Memories
approx 24 x 32

Rhonda received her rug this morning
 can finally share a photo
(provided by her since I forgot to take one of the finished rug)

I had a lot of fun hooking this
using a lot of strips from my stash
cutting mostly background and blue for the house

I did have to change up the pears
from my original hooking
they looked...wrong

the only change I made was the pumkpin
added that instead of the fence...

this pattern was initially chosen for Mom
so it may have sat in my stash forever
until this swap came along

so glad I hooked it!
I know Mom would approve
plus it got me back to enjoying hooking again
always a good thing

On My Frame

My Garden
(she has a sale on now for patterns with a heart on them)

inspired me to put this rug on my frame
I've had the pattern for years
wanting a lighter background but not sure about it

oh, backgrounds always get me
when I don't want to use black
any suggestions most welcome...

I can't waste all my vacation days cleaning

Another Woolen Memories Rug

next up on the frame
a sweet one from Woolen Memories

just deciding on the truck color...

am going to start the binding on Debbie's beach rug today
once I find my big gold needles
or any needle the yarn can go through
honestly
organization seems to be far beyond me

Mom is feeling better
she is off oxygen except for bedtime!
scheduled for a follow up chest x ray tomorrow

I've been taking her vegetable soup
as often as possible
with a dinner roll or good bread
she prefers it over most everything
as long as there is dessert

Have a great Sunday!
missing my Dad today as always
feeling blessed
with so many wonderful memories

Fall Harvest

Fall Harvest
design by
Woolen Memories

it's a companion piece to my last rug
the sunflowers are the same wool
the backgrounds a similar mix
( I ran out of some old favorites in the first rug)

Miss Olivia
giving Melrose the death stare
how DARE he play with his twist tie
while she is lounging in the sun
(her belly is not as big as it looks...
she has one of those loose bellies...all skin and no filling)

Prim Folk Art Shop on etsy

I treated myself to some new floss
and a few patterns
from
Valerie's etsy shop

I highly recommend her
selection and service!

Can't share the patterns
as they are going to be used for gifts...
the finished projects made from them that is...

All Smiles

love this photo

it's all smiles around here
as there is just a little of the background
to finish hooking on the
second rug pattern from
Woolen Memories...

need to pick up batteries for the camera
or I'd be showing it off now!

still working on the design for the
church rug for mom...
it has to have sheep

looks like I'll start another rug
while I ponder the details...
a pattern from my stash
will do just fine

Christmas design anyone?

what's on your frame this week?

More Woolen Memories

another wonderful fall design from
Woolen Memories...
these pumpkins are more dark gold than orange
thinking red for the house

hooking with 8.5 strips goes quickly
after this rug I have a much larger one planned
will be using 9 cuts for that one...

an extra few days off work this week
plenty of dyeing and hooking planned

Almost...

ooh I love ever bit of this rug...
we're having such a vibrant fall
here in Ohio...
these rich colors are just right

thought I'd be done hooking today
instead I took some time to visit the folks
loaning Mom two of the quilts
she has made for me...
she already has one on the bed

Millennium Garden from 1999
and
The Bible Quilt from 2002
both Jan Patek designs

it's nice to get the quilts out and use them
I have some of mine hanging on a ladder
the cats claws are hard on them so none
to sleep under here most of the time

I have some time off next week
the plan is to dye wool
and get to work on a new
church with sheep rug for Mom

hope you've got something
wonderful to hook, stitch or punch...
