hand stitching is so peaceful
a little running stitch
not always even
as I prefer to eye ball my lines
instead of marking or using painters tape
for the most part
I put in lots of basting time
before the quilting begins
I don't use a frame for quilting
just rest the piece on pillow on my lap
and stitch away from the center out
When I started this little quilt
my mind was stuck on blues and browns
if I was to start it today
it would probably be
olive or red with the tan squares...
maybe even scrappy
the beauty of little quilts
is making another won't take much time
but first
I will keep finishing
what I've started
it's good to have dozens of
projects in progress
there is always something to pick up
in between rugs...
I would go mad
working on one project at a time...

Kelley,
I love those tiny squares of blue and white! You can never go wrong with that shade of indigo!
I'm one who in the past liked to finish one thing before I started another.... but I am trying to change my ways!
I think you accomplish a lot more by having more going at once! At least that's what I am observing from so many others since starting my blog!
The more projects the better!!

I "heart" that, so soothing!

Love the quilt, Kelley...you're doing a great job. I love that shade of blue, too!
Love those blues!!
I like the idea of basting, might be easier in the long run. I never mark mine for straight stitching, like the prim look of a few misplaced stitches;)

Un trabajo estupendo!!!!!!!!
I usually baste with red thread, so later it's easy to see which to remove. I agree hand quilting is very relaxing. Just takes me forever to finish anything. Small quilts may be the best solution. <3 Jonut
