Mom's recipe box is full of things like this...
such a treasure
(these are Chex scotcheroos, must try!)
this is what I've found on Pinterest this morning
yep, it's a comfort food craving day
after a rough one with Mom yesterday
why yes, yes I did need to pin
more than a few popcorn ball recipes
this is the recipe I grew up making
still love it
with it's slightly gritty texture
sometimes you add walnuts
a new favorite
much easier than baking cookies...
I did bake up a double batch of brownies
waiting for the furnace guy to get here
again
different guy
it appears he fixed it for real this time
he said he was going to call his wife
and ask for brownies tonight
they were still in the oven
or I'd have given him a plate full
this book arrived yesterday
Mom was not interested in looking at it
so you know it was a bad day...
praying today will be better for her
chest x ray showed she still has pneumonia
even if she looks and feels better
I think it's the strong antibiotics giving her so many issues
plus getting her anxiety meds back in line
we take it a minute at a time when I'm with her
yesterday was lots of hand holding
I'm blessed to be able to be there for her

Hi Kelley,
Yes, we all need comfort and those goodies look like just the ticket, especially that Toll House Pie........YUMMM!
I'm so sorry to hear of your rough day with mom and will continue to keep you both in my prayers!! Hand holding can be power medicine!!
Christmas Hugs to you both~

And mom is blessed to have you there.

I hope she is feeling better. The antibiotics cause a lot of stomach issues too

I firmly believe in comfort food, nothing like something that tastes wonderful to us and makes us feel a bit of joy as we enjoy eating it. I hope they can get your moms meds regulated, that is always the hardest part. And I do know that too many antibiotics messes with my moods, so I can imagine how they are effecting your mom. Always in my prayers and thoughts and wish you a wonderful Christmas together.

I am very fond of fudge. But I like to go out on a limb...pumpkin, candy cane, peanut butter, chocolate with coconut. If I can melt it, I'll give it a try at least once! One time, I didn't have the peppermint kisses for fudge, I melted down some Andes Mints. Yes, Virginia, it does work! LOL
I'm sorry that your mom is not back 100%. This has been a tough winter for Dad, too. We do the best we can...Hang in there, Kelley...
I remember when it was "okay" to buy corn syrup for holiday treats!
Loved everything made with Hershey cocoa!
Bless your sweet mom , and you!
Hoping for better days!
