yesterday
adjusting her meds takes so much time
it's heartbreaking to see her "snowed"
it feels worse than her rage
Monday
she was very medicated
but did enjoy a visit with Stella
a doll she bought me over 20 years ago
I am spending all my days off with her
from lunch to bed time
awake or asleep
we are in this together
not getting much done at home
important phone calls, paying bills
fussing with the cats
one Xanax at a time for me

Most kids visit or ignore their parents once they are in nursing care, you are an amazing daughter and I hope your mom evens out with the medications so you can enjoy your time together. Just make sure you take care of yourself too, even if you go outside while she naps and just relax.

You are a good daughter...one of my dad's nurses asked one time if I was a "country girl". I asked why. She said that she could tell the difference between country girls and city girls by how they stepped up and took care of their parents. She didn't mean anything bad by it, just an observation of how dirty you would get your hands. You, Kelley, are a country girl. SMILE That is not a bad thing to be...hang in there.

I am glad to see pictures of your mom. I have been thinking about you both. I understand the "snowed" business. I do not like it. I hope she feels better and more like her self soon. Take care of you too.
