Packing Time

Mom and Dad
May 2
they've been married almost 65 years

my sister took this photo
right before he took a nosedive
out of his chair...
he's fine
that hard headed German skull
has taken more than a few bumps

 July 2011
Dad was in skilled nursing that month
oh the changes in the past 2 years...

boxes are being packed
at my house
I've given my landlord a 2 month notice

the cats and I
will be moving in with Mom
by the end of June...

oh the cats!
they are the one fly in the ointment
how to keep them inside
is my issue

Mom will forget
I don't want to have them closed off
in a bedroom when I'm out of the house
my thinking cap is on
for a solution

this sort of tired I understand
hoping after the move
I'll have more time to enjoy
my wool
 cotton
 and thread

It's a gorgeous morning here
the crab apple trees are blooming wildly
makes all the driving around such a pleasure
Wishing you a wonderful day!

Packing is Slow

empty shelves

for the most part

baskets are normally

on the floor...

the cats have been
sleeping on different shelves
where their is cozy wool left

Livvie loves this spot
she can see down the hall
while reamaining toasty
by the heater vent

the Princess Chair #2

she sleeps on it
under it
behind it

Melrose doesn't bother her here

I can start moving my
belongings in to the new place
on Wednesday!

the carpet is being cleaned tomorrow...
first the wire shelf units will go
then I can fill those up
&
bring home all empty boxes

Thanks for all your kind
comments about Chester
my missing him is
not a sad thing
more a way of remembering
what a treasure he was...

~Update~

Miss Pippi girl
wants me to remind
you that the camera
adds 10 pounds
...
she is not
a wee plump kitty
as it appears

Slow Progress

Melrose

has been a big help
checking for
dust and cobwebs
as I pack...
looks like he found
something there

The little princess

on her throne
watching the birds and squirrels

Melrose always
seems to prefer the floor
over the cat tree

If he dares

to get on her chair
Olivia will kick his butt!

She chases him all over the house
up and down
the stairs until
she gets a few good
swings in...

Olivia's Chair :
not for sharing
she barely lets me sit there

The new place
has nice windows
but nothing
as perfect as this spot
