Design Wall

the other day I finally got around to putting up my design wall

so simple...

two pieces of insulation styrofoam

attached with Command Strip tape

then

covered with wool (yes, I have that much extra wool)

the wool is pinned on

...

the perfect size for making small quilts

...

on the wall this week is the

Simple Joy quilt in progress

the top three rows are stitched together

still need pressed

finished all the other blocks this morning

time to stitch and press some more

then decide on the border fabric

...

I'll let you know the size when I'm done with it

larger than the pattern

since I only used that for the layout

...

It's rain and more rain here in Ohio

so I'm having a little contest in my eBay group

to create our own sun with a sunflower project

to be finished by the end of the month

not much time...

but I'm desperate for some sun!

...

ps I found the indoor button on my camera

I love your quilt, that blue you used is it an older print or can I get some of that? I want to make a design wall, can you use felt for one?

I love that quilt and the prim blues, beautiful piece.
I was thinking of making a wall out of the ugly door in my room, but wasn't sure what to put on it. Would be nice to have even a small one to put up pieces.

Hey Kelley Girl! Great small quilt! Love your design wall. I just use batting, but I don't have a space large enough for the quilts I make, so I end up laying them out on the floor. Pain in the butt (and knees and back, etc. ha!). Love your header, by the way.

Very, very nice Kelley! Love your new piece. Your wall sounded easy to put together. Hope it inspires someone else to make one too. Can't wait to see the finished piece, and the sunflowers from the group!
