Sneaky Sneaky

Mom and I have been stitching a secret present

for my sister Deb for her birthday this year

it's one with a "0" on the end so it deserves special notice...

I've been sending her emails with

little sneak peeks since it won't be completed

in time to make it for her special day

right now it's at the quilters

we can't wait to see how it turns out...

hand pieced and hand appliqued

it took up most of my free time

for two months and then some...

Mom did the applique and I did the rest

except for about 20 little squares

from Loretta who want to help

(she is not a stitcher!)...

my other sister will be providing

the $ for quilting and shipping...

we make a good team

In a few weeks I'll be able to share

the finished quilt with you...

my only regret is not buying

more of that large red Moda print

(top row of 1st photo)

so if you have any you'd be

willing to part with let me know...

Oh the excitement! What a wonderful thing you are doing as a family for your sister. I can't wait to see it when it's quilted. Sorry I don't have that fabric or I'd send you some. And I was most surprised to see my little rug in your header! Of course the designer is one of my favs (miss Kelley)! Hugs, Lori

Love the close up, shows off the colors a lot better.
I got a menonite book and it has some nice simple patterns, so maybe I will start one for my bed today.
