Savoring

taking my time reading the final book
by Maeve Binchy
who passed away in 2012

she has long been one of my favorite authors
a departure from my normal
gruesome reading...

using bits of free time to create the freezer paper templates
will be working with wool for my applique
long rather than square
not using the large snowmen in the border...

Also working on a green and red one patch
small quilt inspired by Lori

tan 9 patches
hooking
dyeing
a little bit of this and that
savoring the process of all

Mave binchey has been a long time favorite. I love the Tara road and scalet feather books.
I hope to get my hands on that one soon so sorry to lose her.

You made me laugh! I tend to read rather gruesome books too and I adore Maeve.... Don't you want to be best friends with so many of her characters? My husband and I chat about what we are reading and he asks me "what's happening?" and I reply "not much"! So fun though.

Cute snowman project! I wish I had the talent to do "real" quilting. The best I can manage is scrap stuff with no real patterns or measuring involved. Sigh. I will just enjoy the beauty I see here in your projects. Lovely.

So sad to have a wonderful author such as Maeve Binchy pass away. She wasn't that old. I've love all of her books, and finished reading A Week in Winter, a few weeks ago. The cat looks very serious with her sewing. Wonder what she's making. Love the snowman quilt, must take a lot of patience for those appliques.
