Birds and Boring

the birds are so close to the window
we are having fun trying to identify each one

my sister and her husband were here for a few days
always too short a stay
they were able to take mom out
for a nice ride to the park with ice cream

Franks was able to arrange the feeders
outside Mom's window for better viewing
and stability...one feeder is very heavy

they left early this morning
so we did our goodbyes last night
I stayed with Mom for a while...
she was asleep in minutes

*****

this morning the excavator
was here at 9 am sharp
to install a clean out for the drains
he got some huge roots out
but still needs cleaned

that's only taken about a week

next a call in to drain company again

so baby steps towards me buying the house

later this week there will be tile
installed in bathroom and kitchen

the replatting papers are here so that
run around will start to get
the joining of the front and back lots approved
by the local commissioners

then registered

then call for title search

then have the house appraised by the bank
(before then I will be checking for
problems like peeling paint and correcting them)

then have a contract drawn up

hoping we can wrap this up over the summer

We are finally able to apply for Medicaid
for Mom...stock has been cashing in
used for home repairs, clothes and shoes

have 13 months to sell the house

I will be able to save more money
for down payment and emergency fund
in the meantime

I just might be able to leave my IRA untouched
my pitiful IRA for my age

~ Just so you know ~

none of this is meant as complaining
just things to deal with

I'm in a better place mentally
than I've been in years...

This is how Olivia and Mel
acted while the excavating was going on

Happy Sunday!
I took 1/2 a day off so I could spend more time
with Mom today

I hope you find a few minutes to take a deep breath and relax. So much to deal with. Life can be so tough...
Hugs :)

It sounds like you have everything under control.. a good master plan.

Glad to hear you are in a "good" place in your life.

Sounds like you are doing the best you can, Kelley..and don't feel bad about your IRA...I was too embarrassed to go to a financial consultant when I decided to retire this past year....but sucked it up and went anyway...and I am so glad I did! Anyone can live within their means...we'll never have millions or even hundreds of thousands in the bank or in an IRA....but we are living happily...you will too one day! Take care my friend...

Sounds like a lot to deal with all at once and all the time. I hope things can get finished soon, then you can concentrate on relaxing and time with your mom.
