Mom and Judy
had a nice walk in the sun on Saturday
she prefers this hat to all others
*****
Yesterday
was a very bad day
her agitation continued after I left...
they said she ended up crying
then heading outside on her own
She is good at using the buttons
you press to open the two automatic doors
Hoping this will make the Dr realize
how serious her agitation is
When I got back a few hours later
she was napping
in a good mood and apologetic
Just when I think my heart
can't break any more...

Oh Kelley, my heart breaks for both of you. Continued prayers. Big hugs, Lori
Kelley,
please know I am always thinking of you and your Mom. Some days will be better than others. Praying for more of those good days for you both.
Stay strong!
Big hugs!!

I am sorry to hear she had a bad day and wish they could do something more to help her. I also think health care sucks, they should give full coverage for home care, it is cheaper than a home and better for the person.

Love the hat! Cherish those moments...I know you do. xo
you have a strong heart, my friend ~ it may hurt and weep, but it will not break. Your momma knows that you love her at that is all that matters ~ sending you positive energies and lots of love & light!!!

Bless you and your mama!
I'm sorry Kelley. Mom's drugs that helped were Namenda and Ativan. Big difference! The two they gave my FIL made him worse, but his doctor used blanket meds for everyone and wouldn't take the time to research alternatives. They weren't even recommended for dementia patients. I hope they help her soon.
I wish there was a way I could help in this journey. It is a struggle everyday but remember you are not in control - a horrible disease is affecting your sweet Mom. Suggest Ativan to her doctor. It helped us.
So sorry this is so hard on you both, hugs.
Kelley, I'm caring for my father with dementia. It's so hard and I feel for you. Hold on to the good moments. Be kind to yourself. Refresh when you can. This is a marathon....
Your mom looks so cool in her hat! Wishing you and your mom all the best.
So sorry you and your mom are having such a difficult time. My mom passed recently after a 7 yr. struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She actually passed from a different medical condition and so my sister and I were not really prepared. My sister and I have been members for several years of a Facebook group "Memory People" which you might find helpful. It is an online support group for family members of dementia patients. There is lots of useful information to be found there and lots of moral support.
