Vaction Day 5

a few before shots of the
sewing/file room today
tomorrow I'll share the after/in progress version

Dad fixed the closet up for Mom years ago
to the right is the sewing machine
in front of a largish window
a place Melrose love to perch
this morning he and Olivia were very interested
in my sewing
finally got some pants hemmed for Mom
purchased during the summer
(or Spring)

the opposite side of the room
it's beyond a catchall spot at this point
hmmm...that blue thing
is a painters cloth from August maybe

the rest of the room is no better

my vacation has been delightfully boring
time to putter around the house
with no deadlines
nothing I need to do but visit Mom every day

a little blurry
but you get the idea
this is a small amount of our stash
I've filled two large plastic totes
with fabric to donate somewhere...
much more to go through

taking my time
just needing to clear some room for paperwork again
since I'm trying/failing
to keep it off the kitchen table

Melrose is on oven watch
in case the door flies open
he'll be first to the chicken breasts...

Happy Wednesday!

I hate this very nice dark green cupboard
only because
I choose it instead of a more prim
early blue piece
which I've regretted ever since

You could paint just the front a lighter Colour or just the surrounds of the door on your cupboard. It would brighten it up and not be too big a job.

I love the green cupboard...but of course, I didn't see the one you passed...doesn't it seem like we spend more time organizing and purging our sewing rooms than actually sitting in them and being productive? I'm always putzing in mine...then I can't find anything..right now, I'm missing my Hartman hook!!

Your room looks about like my hooking room. Every time I clean I vow to keep it that way and it never lasts!!! My piles of wool are a total disaster.
I like the cupboard, too. Maybe you could change the color (in your spare time...lol!) and you'll be happier.
Hugs :)

Great space for your sewing room and I know it will be fun redoing it to make it your own and start creating again.

Isn't it funny how the sewing room/any creative room in my opinion always ends up looking disorganized constantly?!?!?! I clean it up, swearing never to mess it up again, then, I can't find something....and before I know it, it's a disaster again!!!! Oh well.... I hope you're enjoying your vacation!!!!

Kelley,
Wow! You have some wonderful pieces!! The green cupboard would be welcomed here in a heart beat! Such a great prim piece and a wonderful green!! You do have your work cut out for you!! But what fun to be surrounded by fabric and wool!!
Hugs and energies to work that magic!!
