I moved into this house with Mom
two years ago today...
so much has changed in that time
one of my favorite blogs
Zen Habits
recently issued a 30 day challenge
I'm not up to learning something new right now
it has made me think
so for these 30 days
I'm having my own personal challenge
Make Life Fun Again
it's been so long
I can barely remember how
so sorry to the cats
for I'm starting with singing to loud music today
while I cut wool
I know, I know...
not too exciting for most
like I said...I'm way out of practice...

It's very exciting, Kelley!! Good for you! I'm about ready to hook one of your patterns from one of your wonderful booklets...I've been away from hooking for a while also. But now I'm back to it...so much fun...and it is exciting!!! Good for you, Kelley..play your music LOUD!!
I would SO love to be able to carry a note but animals run when I try. It would also help keep the food out of my mouth. Gained some more!
The cats may look confused but secretly they LOVE it! LOL Good for you and take step that you are comfortable with, no matter how small, progress is progress. (I keep repeating that to myself!)
Yeah for you! Glad to read that you are attempting a fun passion of yours, can't wait to see what you come up with too! Enjoy your time cutting wool strips to your music!~ Tammy
Sounds like a great goal for the month. You go girl.
I think that's a great start Kelley! You'll get your groove back. I haven't hooked since last fall and
want to hook the rug like we did for you with the cats. I ordered one from Maria cuz I loved the pattern
so much when I saw yours. It's been in the cupboard since then. You are motivating me to get at it!
Big hugs, Lori
This is such a great idea!!! I hope you will share some of your "fun" things with us
I am very happy for you, Kelley. I also sing very badly, but do it anyway! LOL After caring for my father for five years, two of those years on Hospice, I had lost my happy. My father is still with me, but I made a decision that I need to be me again. It has taken three months to regain some of my soul. I make an effort to exercise, work on my crafts, and sometimes give myself a few hours to just do nothing. You hang in there, remember that in order to be a good caretaker, you sometimes need to care for yourself FIRST. Please share your fun with us. :-)
Good for you!
Today I have been closet purging.
I can't believe how much red and white fabric
I have, because my Mom always loved red, I had tons of it.
I still do, but today I realized I needed to let go of some of it.
I decided I like blue better, that took me almost 9 years to make that choice instead of red, like her. She has been gone now over 12 years, and I'm still learning to let go in some ways. Life is a journey, not a stand still.
I look for fun everyday of my life, some days it's easier than others, but still I do this for me. Sometimes just sticking my tongue out at myself in the mirror will make me giggle like a kid.
Turn up the music, let her rip, the cats will come back around soon enough,
Hugs!
Please keep us posted on your fun stuff. I am not dealing with what you are and I'm still having trouble making the time to do fun stuff.
Hugs :)
Lauren
Thanks for the encouraging post! I need to put fun back into my life, too!
Sounds like fun to me, just doing something for fun, just because, is always a good way to get back into happy things.
