Wool Worms

no hooking here yet...
at least I keep seeing rugs that inspire

today I need to strip a bunch of wool
to take on my visit with Mom
her friend Ann has been nagging me for some to organize

Mom says she might help
but she's really not in the mood
oh sure...
she might hold out for a minute or two

but the chance to play with wool
is near impossible to resist
*****
the facility is adding a huge wing to the building
the outside is nearly done
landscaping is in
Mom keeps hoping there will a jewelry store
"in the mall"

when I hear family members of other residents
constantly correcting their mothers
it makes me sad
agreeing with Mom makes her happy
she loves that we're hoping for a jewelry store too!

Living in her world works for all of us...

her 'world' may not be relevant to everyone else, but it is in her mind a happy place with hope….sounds to me like a wonderful place to be. Kelley you are a wonderful, wonderful daughter & sweet soul.

What beautiful lady doesn't like shopping in a good jewelry store.... even if it's only window shopping as in my case! LOL! Hope you get those wooly worms under control Kelley and keep posting the great pics of rugs! You have a marvelous eye!!
Hugs!!

Bless you it is not easy. A jewelry store sounds better than assisted living so for today her world it better.

That would be fun if they had a mini shop area for the residents.
I think agreeing is the best way, she is happy and you are happy and that is what counts.

Good morning, Kelley. It is hard. I think you are right, agreeing is the best. As my dad's dementia got worse, contradicting him became almost cruel. We do what we have to do...and there is nothing wrong with a jewelry store. SMILE.

Kelley girl I have the utmost respect for you. What you are doing and have done for your parents is exceptional! I'm starting that journey, it's not an easy one but I'll do anything for my parents. I hope I can do 1/2 of what you do, that would make me happy. You are a hard act to follow.

Merry Christmas to you and mom!!

hugs
Cindy
