Nothing New

I shared this on Facebook
posting here in case you missed it...

Mom was able to get her new quilt
on the bed last Wednesday
hand pieced by me,
machine quilted and hand bound by
Brenis Thompson

I promise to get a better pic of the quilt
our Pastor Kristen stopped by after lunch
and was the first to see it on the bed
here Mom was explaining about making quilts
and how much she loves her hooked rugs

so when I say nothing new
I mean I'm not working on anything new
more tackling of the old...
as in large stack of small quilts
"in progress" needing tackled

right now I'm working on my 1800 Vintage
like the one shown above
mine is in all medium golden brown and tan
looks very blah to me now
but I'm in a finishing mood...

patches being pieced into tops
tops being pressed and basted for quilting
making the bias bindings

it feels good to get the next step
done on different projects

*****

nothing new with me and mom
some good days
some not so good days

I hurt my back a few weeks ago
rearranging furniture
had to take some time off work
sitting was painful, standing painful
pacing around was ok

doing much better now
the furniture is still clustered where I left it
waiting for someone else to move it!

Hey Kelley Girl...ohdear. I sure hope your back continues to feel better...that's not good. I saw the quilt the day Bren received it...have been waiting to see a photo of it all finished...looking forward to your posting. I did an 1800 Vintage small quilt...sold it the day I took it to work to show. LOVED it, too! OMG, that was back in 2010! Time does move on, hey? Take care of yourself.

So sorry about your back. Glad you are on the mend.
We need to see a better pic of mom's quilt :)
Sweet picture with the Pastor.

Hope the back calms down. Sounds like you are getting a lot done. That small glimpse of the quilt looks really nice!

Love seeing that photo, your mom being herself.
I hope your back feels better, we are getting too old to be moving and lifting, I am just as bad;)
