More Scrappy Hooking

progress...not sure about that yellow...
it's much brighter in person
very far out of my comfort zone

the dark dividing line looks black
it's actually a reddish brown that never worked anywhere
love it here

a few gals asked about the pattern
the drawing is what I started with
can you tell I'm not a perfectionist?

1. draw any size rectangle on your backing

2. draw an X from corner to corner

3. mark the middle of each outside border line

4. connect the dots to form a square

hope this makes sense...
very simple
if you make one I'd love to see it!

found this one of ebay
for all those dark worms still haunting me

Love it. Okay, now I've got to ask what might seem like a dumb question to you. I've been hooking for years now but find the hit and miss harder than it looks. I'll hook a color in and rummage thru the worms (making more mess) until something seems to be a good fit. Sometimes it works and sometimes it gets ripped out.

For the life of me I cannot just put my hand in the basket, pull out a strip and hook it. Yes, I've read where people do that; doesn't work for me. What is your secret for success?

I like the pops of color, especially if it is going on the kitchen floor, need something brighter in there and you know you will spill stuff on it anyways, lol. Love how it looks so far.

Kelley,
I Love It!!!! You are on fire right now with all your finishes but this may be my favorite yet. Haven't been hooking long enough to have worms for hit and miss but looking forward to the time that I do!
