Rug Finishing

https://halcyonyarn.com/yarn/001/halcyon-yarn-rug-wool

yesterday I started working on finishing
my small mats and rugs
ended up napping most of the day

today I got my unfinished rugs out
to see what colors of yarn I need to bind them with

I love the whipping of rugs
stitching the strips of wool on the back
signing my name in thread

good thing
because there are over a dozen
in my stack

I have been so busy decluttering my sewing room
by selling this and that
it's been a real success for me
money for student loan
finding happy homes for patterns and wool
leaving only my favorites

Happy Sunday night!
I've seen the latest episode of Outlander already today
of course I'll need to watch it a few more times...

You are one of the rare ones who enjoys finishing rugs. NOT ME!
Congrats on your decluttering. I'm not sure I will ever tackle that though I need to.
Is Outlander on network TV? I've heard talk of it but I only have Netflix.
Happy Sunday :)

I do like binding too, and it is relaxing, but I need to do better binding first.
I watch outlander when we get free weekends and I can catch up on all of them, lol.

I'm with Lauren, it is NOT my favorite part of hooking a rug. Good thing you like to do it with all those piled up. Please share each one with us. I haven't seen the last episode yet but hope it doesn't disappoint.

(Lauren - Outlander is on Starz, which is usually a premium channel. I have the Starz app on my kindle.) Looking at my tub of rugs, I think less than 10 percent were ever finished. By the time I finish a rug, it takes a while until my fingers can handle a tapestry needle to whip stitch the edges.

Yes, Kelley I just saw the latest episode of Outlander too. Have been reading on FB about the books and how different they are than the Starz series. My book reading days are over thanks to my deteriorating eyesight so downloaded free software from my library and getting the audio books that way. Oh my goodness they are so long. Doubt I will be able to stick with it. First book is 32.5 hours long. That's a lot of listening before that download disappears in 3 weeks. Jan
