Liberty Whale

hooked for my friend Debbie St Germain
the border was done last year
just waiting for the inspiration for the center

my sister thinks it look "very Nantuckety"

Melrose says it's very comfortable

now to press and remove cat fur
shipping tomorrow!

stitched this - by hand
got carried away and made it king size
I have no use for it this large

it's in the top/not quilted stage
so fairly easy to take apart to make two
smaller quilts

this way I can use and enjoy
maybe gift one to someone who likes blue

Happy Tuesday!
keeping my hands busy is easy this week
I am very thankful for that

Oh Kelley I just think the whale rug is awesome yes I’d say Nantucket looking too but so sweet I bet she’ll love..,.that quilt top is just absolute fab......you did a great job, it would be a wonderful piece to cherish for sure....I’m hoping to do a scrappy quilt for my son and daughter in law for Christmas...I by all means am not a quilter so I’ll need to learn how to quilt it once done, I’ve ever only done tie......
Thank you for sharing so glad to see you’re creating again.....

Blessings
Rhonda

Love both the rug and the quilt. I think you are wise to make your quilt useable. Way too beautiful to stay as just a top.

You are so inspiring. That rug is very Nantuckety and too sweet. I'm sure Debbie will cherish it.
Your quilt is gorgeous. I cannot imagine hand sewing it.
Happy Tuesday to you :)

I just love how you made it look like the nantucket style, which my beach room is more of a happy beach room, I do antique mermaid in the bathroom. I love the look on Melrose's face. I want to start practicing on my quilt machine, I have one of my first ones that is not that great, so I can start with that one. The heat just makes me so lazy this summer, hard to get motivated, but finishing one quilt has inspired me to do more, have lots of tops to finish.

Kelley Girl...that whale rug for Debbie is awesome and just perfect for her!!! You're such a good friend. Love the too big quilt top...and yes, making smaller quilts from it is an excellent idea. In fact, I have two quilts here that are over 50 years old that I have been talking about doing that with...and never seem to get it done. One of these days. xo
