It Seems Like Forever

one year ago tonight
a little after midnight
my dear Dad passed away with me by his side
it has been quite a year
mostly so busy with Mom
I haven't had time to grieve
I thank him daily for so many things
miss him always...
Dad loved Christmas with his family
so tonight I've been looking
at vintage Belsnickles
checking out recipes for pfeffernuse
all things German for the holidays
tomorrow I am bringing mom home
for a few hour visit
praying it goes well
so it can be the first of many...
this morning she called to say
they took her and some other ladies to jail last night
weird because I dreamt someone kidnapped her
we really are on the same wavelength
quite often
we say it's because we are both the babies...

Oh Kelley, I know how you feel. You've had so many changes and challenges this year that it's hard to let yourself catch up. Sometimes circumstances like continuing to care for your mom just keep pushing you forward. Sometimes we need to let ourselves go back and appreciate where we have been.....and how far we've come.
Big hugs, Kim

I was in the same position. Had to care for mom right after Dad passed and never had time to fully grieve for him. It's really tough. So sorry. Hoping the visit goes well. Fabulous santas!

I'll be praying for comfort as you think in what this day is.
You gave your all to your Dad in his last days and you are a super hard working daughter in your care for your Mom.
God bless you !!

The first anniversary is always the hardest and I know having your mom home for the day will be a nice way to spend the day.
