Another One of a Kind

loved hooking this one
the colors speak to me!

I think the background color I dyed
is perfect for fall rugs

14 x 25 approx
SOLD
one of a kind design

next up will be donation rugs
smaller than usual so they will be more affordable

But First
cleaning up the disaster I made of my house
hooking and dyeing

Happy Friday!
the sun is shining and it's chilly here

Bye Bye Bee Skep

you know that rug I was hooking about a million year ago?
where I needed help deciding on what to add...

 well...
it just didn't work out
so now I'm using some of the wool
to hook a big pumpkin
with the crow

still going to be a giveaway rug
still the same four folks in the running...

which color do you think I'll choose for the pumpkin???
haven't decided yet...
love them all

Punching Away

No matter what color

I love pumpkins

the latest punched piece

is an experiment

in neutral

or almost neutral

it's heading to eBay tomorrow

I'm trying to get away from

punching for a while...

too many other projects

to finish

my friend Doris

sent a great bundle of floss

for me to enjoy

some as-is skeins

plus some of her hand dyed

looks like I can't resist one more

punched piece

before hiding the needles...

the hand dyed oranges

are too yummy to resist

Crow Quilt

This one has been a work in progress forever...all it needs is the binding and it's done...and it's needed the binding for about 10 years now...all hand pieced, appliqued and quilted...

maybe I should walnut dye it now and I'll like it better and will finally finish it...

Off the Walls

Finally getting back to working on the painting...taking treasures off the living room walls today...

The first is a little double crow with star rug...a bit darker and richer looking in person, tough taking indoor photos on a dreary day...just the neatest background mix...this is one of my designs and is one of my few eternal "keepers"...

Two cats rug is an antique reproduction...see woolley fox link for pattern and many more versions of this rug...hooked this as a gift to myself for graduation present in 2005...the border is another great mix...much nicer in person...

A wonderful hand pieced and quilted quilt from my sister Deb...too perfect from all the glorious homespuns to tiny star blocks in border...

Happy Easter!

This Spring Lamb punch needle is a work in progress...didn't even trim off the long threads yet...my own interpretation...a combination of designs by lori brechlin and betty dekat...lamb sort of looks like a dog to me...have another piece on the frame right now...this will be my fourth np piece in as many days...

Really going to work on stash busting this year from here on out...the wool diet has been going pretty well and hardly ever buy cotton anymore...am now adding floss and other np threads to the list...

Have way too much to need to go more...will be making do from here on in...will take a bit more to put books and patterns on that list

one thing at a time....

Kentucky Primitve Rug

Hooked this little piece last fall...was inspired by the designs of Victoria/Kentucky Primitives...she graciously allowed me to use her patterns for hooked rugs instead of stuffed items...I have hooked a few others from her collection and they are such pleasure...guess it helps that I love fall and Halloween...

Crow Mittens

Another couple of scanned in photos...made these for my sister Deb one year...hooked from Jan Patek designs and inspiration...

A lot of work but well worth the effort...
