Antiuqe Rug and Freebies

I figured out how to scan in b/w

no more pink backgrounds

 my NC sister loves tombstone angels

guess it's time to hook her another one

the house is a little cleaner - a lot more organized

things set aside to donate - to recycle

a new rug hooked

cats brushed to sleek and fluffy gorgeousness

 a pretty good stay-cation in my book

hooking all the simple geometrics for Debbie

really helped diminish the worm stash

More than that

they gave me back my love of hooking

it had been buried under all 

that has gone on in my life the past 4 years

did I mention that my latest rug was for me?

Birds & Books

 

Books have always been

at the top of my favorites list

my reading list is

longer every day

 

For so long this

is year I found I couldn't read

fiction...only Alzheimer's care books

my mind wouldn't focus

I was always too restless

 

The only escape

I could find was listening to

audio books

when alone in the car

 

In the past week

I've been able to recover my joy of reading

the escape from this world

in to another...

finally I can relax

 

It's especially nice to sit in the living room

keeping Mom company while

she and Melrose watch the birds

Olivia beside me on the couch

 

 

 

Mom is stitching a little

in between bird and squirrel watching

 

I'm still loaded down with paperwork

so not much stitching

hooking will have to wait even longer

because I make such a mess

you have no idea

 

 

 

Just Breathing

I keep trying to amuse myself with

I have enough neat old and repro 

cookie cutters to try this...

Lovely old small quilt to reproduce...

cat, book and birds...

always good for a smile

but the reality remains...

I figure a stroke from all this stress is due any minute...

I've finished the hooking on my RAK piece

the backing it's on has room for a few more pieces...

will do a similar one for myself...

He and Ollie are both standard poodles

but with Teddy's grooming he

looks like a muppet come to life

PRHG Challenge Pieces and a Big Sheep

Works in progress...haven't even trimmed the excess threads off the tops yet...these have been done to this stage for ages and haven't gotten around to finish them as pinkeeps yet..they are resting on a small wallhanging my sister made me years ago...

Hooked this one weekend as a last minute present for sister Deb for Christmas...the book just came out and I HAD to hook it!! As with all the scanned in photos, it looks much better in person...

Birds, Flags and Sunflowers

Another hooked rug that now belongs to my sister Deb...hooked it a few years ago when inspired by some designs of Lori Brechlin(notforgottenfarm)...a free and unplanned piece wool wise...just used pieces form the snippet basket...a very happy rug...
