Saturday Puttering

I have ignored this closet for far too long

some things untouched for years!

I want to paint it 

since that won't be happening soon

figured at least I could clean it out

so today I'm alternating between cleaning

hooking little simple pieces

(about 6 x 6)

preparing invoices for my booklets...

tomorrow I will take the designs to make copies

back to the closet

it used to be worse

over time I have used up many bottles of polish and cleaners

shampoo, hand lotion 

but the light bulbs!

they never seem to end

my parents had enough for the whole neighborhood

I have been placing all "like" things together

so brought another 15 packages

of light bulbs in from the garage

will check and see if they work then donate

this morning it was cool and breezy

with windows open 

I could hear all the chimes Mom had around the house

of course it made me smile

Dyeing In Progress

today is the day

wool finally made it into the pots

three pots done

two more on the stove

I'll show all the wool when I put the pots away

later this week

the stack on the dye table is growing

I'm nearly done with one closet

a few stacks of too thin and too loose wool

still in the sewing room

wondering where to donate 

some cleaning done in between

I'm a a major procrastinator

so any time I actually feel like cleaning

I do 

the cats are very busy following me around

came across a bunch of red dot 

from when I was planning on selling patterns on linen

(only 4 or 5 years ago)

since then 

I've come to realize I hate drawing patterns on linen for others

for myself I can have errors galore

Dye Prep

if you're regular blog ready

you probably already know how this went yesterday

(mostly telling the story for myself...)

the room where this table of wool now sits is the Rec Room

first I had to clear a space for the table

 not much work

(Olivia loves to sleep in the little house behind the table)

then I had to empty the table in my wool room

bring it out to the RR

next dust and clean the table, including cat fur covered wheels

back to wool room

sweep the floor, move the litter boxes
and so on with housework ADD

so no actual dyeing took place yesterday
nor today as yet

Puttering Around

  

usually not even 40% completed...

I've been puttering around the house

after doing a major "healthy food only" grocery shop

 then a few doughnuts at the Amish Market

so...

I figured my blood sugar would go too high

after 3 huge doughnuts

gave myself a fast acting insulin injection

without paying attention

I cranked it up to the level of my slow acting insulin 

so...

now I'm staying in the house

checking my blood sugar frequently

what a dufus!

 really in the mood to do some punch needle

maybe being forced to stay inside

will help me finally find it

  

its' not like I don't have a million other things to do here

Good Morning Friends

it was the red that was bothering me

  I've lost interest in it 

for now

it's going to be large

the part that's been hooked is about 8"

now that I've changed colors

I'm going to plan more before hooking

gotta go with the flow

  

she's had about enough of me

she's in serious cleaning mode

maybe it's the smell of bleach in the air

as I've been washing rags

No More Stuff

I don't need more stuff

just need to get it out where I can see it to use

this is fat quarters of cotton

I'd use it for wool

too fussy for me

I like the idea of hanging organizers though

I'm thinking my patterns on red dot

or other large patterns on paper

 

 maybe I've shared this one before

will definitely need to get the pattern

I have lots of wall space in my sewing room

all these projects could fit on one wall

I've been busy lately

with family fun and issues

still using my little free time

to look over Pinterest

finding things that make me laugh

or think

my Melrose would love this

New Cat Toy

* do not pay attention

to the awful carpet...

it's on the way out

I brought the paper bag

in from the car today

intending to use it

for junk to toss out...

First Olivia got in it

then Melrose

No cat has moved yet

as they try to deter

me from vacuuming!
