Recent Hooking and Swap

swap quilt from Marian Edwards
of Australia
top photo ~
is from a few days ago
the rug is now hooked and whipped
needs some wool strips to finish
about 24 x 46
makes me want to hook larger rugs

bottom photo ~
just finished hooking today
pattern by Red House Wool Studio
Harvest Blessings
15.5 x 19.5

so a few weeks ago my desktop crashed
have been using my phone or laptop
for most things
still getting the hang of blogging on laptop

a few more days left of my vacation
as always no painting was done
given the choice between hook/needle and brush
I am never going to get my walls repainted

at least they are clean
as are the baseboards and all the trim
so I did a little prep work
that should count for something...

wishing all my friends
sweet dreams tonight
and a joyful tomorrow

Kitchen Sink Rug

this scrappy rug is going in front of the kitchen sink
hoping this one will really shrink the worm stash
fun using colors I normally avoid

mats prepped and ready to finish
whip the edges
then cover the back with a heavier wool

will practice on these before doing Debbie's

biscuit making
he looks a mess but I swear he's always being brushed

working on decluttering this week
about 20 large bags of fabric donated to a few
churches and gals that make small quilts
for hospitals, homeless and nursing homes

still plenty left for quilt making

next I'm tackling Mom's clothes
starting with her coat collection
she loves coats like some women love shoes!

Wishing you a good day...

A Favorite Oldie

this photo has to be about 10 years old
my front stoop the year I went (extra) pumpkin crazy
much loved rug design by Brenis Thompson
Circle Whimsy
would love to hook another in different colors...
maybe I can tall her in to drawing one up
the days are flying by
good and bad alike
we get through them with prayer, laughter and tears
the weather is perfect for Mom and I
took take walks outside
checking out the sunflowers, chipmunks, bird feeders
think I'll sneak some pumpkins under her bird feeder
once I hit the farm market
stopped by this one yesterday for Honey Crisp apples...
I should be working on the layers of dust
accumulating around here
yeah right
