Little Wooly Swap

somewhere around November I suggested a little wooly
swap to a few friends...to be done in 2013
aren't they great?

Dogwood from Sharon
Heat and Hand from Cathy
Rabbit from Betty

the theme was anything prim
size 4 x 4 minimum...

Red Bird is my contribution
Star from Patijane
Pennies from Ginger...she even stitched a penny in the pillow for good luck

later this year I'm thinking of similar swaps
with different themes...
fall comes to mind for sure...

this is my sewing board
styrofoam covered with flannel

I can pin my patches and blocks to it
a mini design board to look at while I'm stitching
right now it holds the green and red blocks
for a small Christmas quilt
and
the 9 patches for Cheri's latest stitch along piece

hope you're able to spend some time creating today

*****
I've finished reading A Week in Winter
so sad to leave the last page...
will have to start looking
for all her earlier books to reread
it was wonderful to hear from you about her books

Summer Swaps

Two of my online groups

are having simple summer swaps...

in one we're making sewing rolls/needle cases

here are a few photos

I'm using for inspiration

this is a Sue Spargo pattern

free on All People Quilt

of course

I'd have to add some pockets

to the inside...

this photo came from esty
I like the idea of printed sewing images

this is one is just about perfect

lots of Stacy Nash patterns

to choose from in my stash

an old favorite

I like the mix of fabric/textures

I'd like a few hanging

sewing rolls for display

a little too prim for this swap

love it...but too much work

Which one would make you happy

to receive in a swap?

Not sure exactly which sort of

huswif I'll be stitching

but I do know

it will have cotton, wool and cotton velvet...

In my eBay group we're doing

our 3rd Anniversary swap...

three ornies/pinkeeps

one has a sunflower theme

the other two are your choice

Both swaps end in early August

should be plenty of time for stitching....

Stitching Stacy Nash

I so love this Stacy Nash

once on cream
once on mushroom linen

finally finished them in to
needlecases
for prizes long overdue...

another Stacy Nash design

finished as a pinkeep

stuffed with wool batting

given as RAK treat

there are plenty more

stitched pieces

waiting to be finished...

good thing for my

3x cheater glasses

or I'd only be able to hook

Filling the Baskets

About 90% done

with dividing the wool strips
by color

the pumpkin and orange basket
is on the floor
(it's a big one)

looking for other baskets
for
brown
blue/greens
and odds...

soon I can pick up my hook again

It was a UFO Retreat Weekend

for my eBay group...
and this is the only thing
I completely finished...
a scrappy pin cushion
from a practice piece of
machine patchwork

backed and filled with wool
munched on by Olivia
as I was stitching on
the red wool trim

would have made a great photo!

I did get some hooking done
on a gift rug or two

Olivia Was Here

Olivia!

She loves wool
maybe too much
and corners seem to be her favorite

I try use these as pinkeeps
but have to keep hiding them
or this happens

Repairs are no longer possible...
looks like they need a total overhaul

Pinkeeps for Lori

here are a few pinkeeps I made for my friend Lori...

one was for the BLESTB Valentine Chocolate Swap

and one was a prize for

hooking a gorgeous rug for Maria's Challenge on PRHG...

Lori and her husband recently brought home a new puppy

the most darling little girl named Zoe

that's why no "Z"

on the front of the long pinkeep...

these were such fun to do!

~~~
the little quilt they are displayed on
is a beautiful piece
the very same Lori surprised me with
so lucky to have such friends~
new pinkeeps
some new pinkeeps I've just finished up...
they'll be starting on eBay later tonight~
can't wait to see what the other
ladies from BLESTB have to list
Though the poll is still open
I've already made my decision
which was stay with I'd intended to do all along...
I'll be going back to kanknchester ASAP
and won't fiddle with my eBay ID ever again
~I'll always be kanknchester from here on in~
Sweet Dreams ~ eBay pinkeep
Finally made myself to finish one of the stitchery pieces I've been making lately...this is the smallest and most detailed...
my eyes will never be the same...
it's only 5 x 7 and those stitches were done with one strand of floss over one thread of the backing...not easy for some nearly 48 year old eyes!
most of my other pieces are browns and some have a bit of pink too...hope to get them listed this weekend!
Pinkeeps Finally Finished
had to take the photos at night...
so the flash doesn't show the true prim look of these pieces
the Merrie Wynter pinkeep is especially dull and drab...
the Joy pinkeep turned out just perfect...love the variegated blacks and browns of the cats body...
and Blessed Be was just fun to do...these were all stitched by eye on prairie cloth and then walnut stained...
all my original work...listing will show up on eBay later tonight...starting them all at $9.99...
